Ponsacco (PI), 18-19th October 2008 Bhaktivedanta Foundation Hall - via Gramsci 64, Ponsacco (PI) Lecturer: Marco Ferrini, Founder and President of Centro Studi Bhaktivedanta
Saturday and Sunday, October 18th and 19th, at the Bhaktivedanta Foundation in Ponsacco (Pisa), took place the first Seminar of the CSB Counseling Course, recognized and accredited by FAIP (Psychotherapy Federation of Italian Associations).
Marco Ferrini, Ph. D. Psychology, Founder of CSB, held the Seminar and developed some fundamental principles in relation to the moral and deontological profession of the Counselor. His introduction to the course focused on the following topics: the structure of personality and its main features consisting of freedom, individual expression, social integration, spiritual tension and the origin of functional disturbances and instruments adopted to solve them.
On Saturday and Sunday mornings, the Seminar was dedicated to a theoretical part and, while explaining the complexity and ambivalence of the human being, Prof. Ferrini drew attention to the listening skills and the importance of an emphatic attitude, in order to better understand others and how to offer new proposals to stimulate a positive approach for the solution of problems.
All the participants, who came from different parts of Italy (30 people signed up for the course and a group of ten took part as audio participants), showed great interest to the morning theoretical lessons and at 1,30 PM students and teachers, had lunch altogether, sharing their impressions in a joyful atmosphere, inside the CSB building.
In the afternoon lessons started at 3,00 pm (both Saturday and Sunday), the whole class was divided in two groups and the lessons were held in two separate rooms, attended by expert teachers.
The students seated in a circle, introduced each other and talked for a few minutes about themselves, then, with the help of the teachers, they started some practical and educational exercises of communication, rationality and listening skills.
A powerful feeling of enthusiasm in having such experience with other people was shared among the participants, and within a short period of time a spirit of unity and empathic understanding, combined both classes.
At the end of the Seminar they wrote a relation about personal feelings and emotions on the work done, and a CD of the theoretical lesson was given as a record to bring home.
The second section of the Seminar will be titled “ Prevention, Dealing and Overcoming Crisis: Man between the illusion of Identity and Conflictual Society”. It will be held by Dott. Marco Della Luna, Attorney, Psychologist and writer, on November 22nd and 23rd (cfr. Sito Internet http://www.csbcounseling.org/), at the Foundation Bhaktivedanta in Ponsacco (Pisa).
